Context

I've never worked in airline revenue management, but I know what it feels like to stare at a dashboard and have no idea where to start. That overwhelming moment when you log in and just... freeze.

That's exactly what was happening to junior analysts using PROS Revenue Management. This is the software that helps airlines set fares and maximize revenue—think dynamic pricing for every flight, every day. It should empower analysts to make smart pricing decisions quickly. Instead, they were getting lost the moment they logged in.

We started hearing from teams that their new hires were struggling:

"I don't know where to start or what to focus on." "The charts don't make sense to me—I can't tell what action to take." "I feel like I'm just guessing most of the time."

When analysts can't act confidently, airlines miss revenue opportunities every single day.

So we set out to fix it. How might we create an experience that actually guides people instead of overwhelming them?

Result

We redesigned RM to provide clear guidance - for analysts who previously felt overwhelmed by complex data and didn't know where to start.

Junior analysts could now see their assigned markets with clear priority indicators instead of getting dropped into random views...

...get AI assistance that explains insights in plain language rather than cryptic charts...

...and receive concrete next steps instead of just raw data they couldn't interpret.

The new experience launches later this year for analysts across multiple airlines. Hopefully now new hires will feel supported instead of lost on day one.
